I took the opportunity to shoot a friend during the first ascent of Mt Maromokotro (2880m) from the East ridge.
We were on the Madagascar Coast to Coast Expedition a 400km trek which was the world’s first crossing of the island.
Like a true photographer I lugged my D700, two lenses, tripod, ball head, spare batteries and related paraphernalia through all 400km – through jungles, over mountains, chest-deep river crossings…but when I see the pictures it was all well worth it (Even if I say so myself!).
Both camera and my body bear scars from the trip……..character.
