I saw this great shot of an eruption of Shiveluch volcanon in Kamchatka from space taken by NASA. Its a great perspective of an eruption I saw back in June 2013 when I stood at the base of Shiveluch and photographed the pyroclastic flows roadring down the sides of the volcano.
Here is the perspective of a mere mortal standing at the foot of a volcano photographing Shiveluch erupting. It was quite unsettling watching these massive pyroclastic flows roaring past our very dusty camp. I have written more about the experience in an earlier post.
